Friday, March 10, 2023 marked the opening performance for Aurora Players’ production of RUMORS. 

During the second evening, a representative from the Theatre Association of New York State (TANYS) attended to conduct an adjudication of the performance. The production ultimately earned six awards across multiple categories. These awards will be presented two weekends before Thanksgiving at the 2023 T.A.N.Y.S. Festival.

Award distinctions are:

Meritorious Achievement = Some advanced theatrical skill noted
Excellence = Theatrical skill base not routinely noted in non-professional theatre
Outstanding Achievement = Theatrical skill base rarely seen in non-professional theatre

The awards are as follows:

• Outstanding Achievement in Scenic Design, Execution and Set Decoration to David Hall, Shawn Ronan, Michael Wier, and Renee’ Ronan.
• Excellence in Direction to Renee’ Ronan.
• Excellence in Costume Design and Execution to Nancy Sheehan Johnson.
• Excellence in Ensemble Performance to the Cast.
• Excellence in Acting to Megan Mahaney for her portrayal of Claire Ganz.
• Excellence in Acting to Joel Murphy for his portrayal of Lenny Ganz.
