Director: Catherine Burkhart
Mrs. Ethyl Savage is the widow of a millionaire. She uses her inherited money to set up a memorial fund with which to help average people pursue their dreams. Her three step-children are shocked to discover this and, on the basis of her “eccentric” behavior, commit her to a sanatorium so they may “bring her to her senses.” The play calls into question the definition of kindness and sanity – and which people in our society are truly crazy.
Catherine Burkhart earned her BFA in Theatre from Fredonia State College and has performed in local theatre for many years. She’s appeared in many AP productions, including Steel Magnolias, The Wizard of Oz, Brigadoon, Sylvia, The Murder Room, and most recently, Towards Zero. Catherine directed The Foreigner and My Fair Lady for Aurora Players, and has co-mentored three very popular Actor’s Workshops. When not involved in productions, she enjoys the outdoors, hiking, Pilates, spinning, reading, cooking, music, and spending time with friends and family.
