by Frederick Knott
Director: Catherine Burkhart
At first glance, Tony and Margot Wendice appear to be the perfect British couple: young, wealthy, and sophisticated. We soon realize that Tony married Margot for her money, and is not at all the loving husband he appears to be – nor is their marriage ideal. Tony discovers Margot is having an affair with an American writer and decides to have her killed. Tony arranges the “perfect murder,” blackmailing an old college associate to “do the deed,” arranging a brilliant alibi for himself. Things don’t go according to plan, however. What follows are some of the most suspenseful moments ever on stage. Dial M for Murder is filled with anticipation and emotion, a classic dramatic thriller that will have you glued to your seat!
Catherine Burkhart earned her BFA in Theatre from Fredonia State College and has performed in local theatre for many years. She’s appeared in many AP productions, including Steel Magnolias, The Wizard of Oz, Brigadoon, Sylvia, and most recently, The Murder Room.
Catherine directed The Foreigner and My Fair Lady for Aurora Players, and has co-mentored three very popular Actor’s Workshops. When not involved in productions, she enjoys the outdoors, hiking, Pilates, spinning, reading, cooking, music, and spending time with friends and family.
