Sixth grade middle school spellers face off in a typical spelling bee fashion eager to win for different reasons. Flashbacks and insights reveal personal details about each speller. This musical comedy explores the idea that winning isn’t everything.
Mary Moebius is an talented actor and director, who has worked with Aurora Players many times. Direction credits with AP include H.M.S. Pinafore, The Pirates of Penzance, Me and My Girl, The Dining Room, Same Old Moon. She is a well-known in the professional theater community acting in shows for the Irish Classical Theater, Alleyway Theater, New Phoenix Theater, Ujima Theater, BUA, O'Connell & Company as well as Players. She is a life member of AP.
Nancy Seel is a well-respected musician, singer and actor in the WNY area. She teaches courses to adults and teens about opera at the Chautauqua Institution. Nancy is also a solo and choral adjudicator for the New York State School Music Assn. Also an AP life member, she has been involved with Aurora Players since 1988; she served as music director for numerous AP musicals, including Guys & Dolls, Music Man, Nunsense, Me &My Girl, 110 in the Shade, Fiddler on the Roof, HMS Pinafore, Pirates of Penzance, and My Fair Lady.
Beth Farrell McCuen choreographed her first show, Cabaret, for Players in 1982. Since that time she has provided direction for many AP shows including, Funny Girl, Guys & Dolls, Pirates of Penzance, Me & My Girl, A Little Night Music, The Wizard of Oz, A Child's Christmas in Wales, Man of La Mancha, Snow Ball and numerous Christmas Carols. Her talents include helping non-dancers to understand movement and be able to meet the requirements of dancers for a show. She is a life member of AP.
